Pulse 24 Features

Bringing your meter to life!

Desktop Analysis

Energy Assets will collate and analyse metering portfolios to:

  • Ascertain the mix of pulse enabled and non enabled meters.
  • Provide a recommended approach to ensure maximum portfolio coverage.
  • Provide a quotation for supply and installation of AMR units and service provision.
  • Provide guideline costing of any Pulse connection fees from incumbent meter managers (MPU).
  • Suggest best approach to maximise benefits to each customer’s requirements.

 Meter Asset Surveys

Prior to AMR installation or as a separate stand alone service Energy Assets can provide onsite surveys of a client’s gas metering installation to provide a report to:

  • Confirm meter portfolio characteristics.
  • Confirm suitability of site for AMR installation.
  • Report on the condition of the gas metering and installation in regard to Health & Safety issues and compliance with current legislation.
  • Ensure abortive installation visits are avoided.

 Implementation Planning

Once initial analysis and any surveys are complete Energy Assets will plan the implementation of your AMR service including:

  • Programming AMR installation works and identification of meters requiring replacement.
  • Communication and co-ordination with nominated client stakeholders taking notice of individual site constraints.
  • Coordination with industry participants including approvals for work where necessary.
  • MPU works and process management.
  • Planning and costing any meter replacement and metering installation works necessary for the satisfactory installation of AMR units.

 Installation works

Having planned and agreed the project Energy Assets will commence the installation of AMR units on agreed portfolio of both primary and secondary meters.

  • Installation of AMR units on all suitable meters.
  • Undertake any meter replacements necessary for satisfactory AMR installation, carried out in accordance with ASPCoP requirements.
  • Management of industry registration and data management processes.
  • Liaison with gas supplier to ensure correct registration of meters and AMR units.
  • Regular progress and management reporting.
  • Production of a photographic record of all installed assets/meters where available.
  • Where meters are exchanged, photographs are taken before and after exchange to ensure evidence of the closing index read.
  • Validation and comparison of gas industry meter database.
  • Energy Assets manages the complex process associated with gas industry installations.

Data Services

Once the AMR unit has been installed we will start collecting data, this is made available through our secure website, 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Alternative methods of obtaining the data are available, to meet client requirements.

Multiple account options allowing different parties within client organisations to view the data are available, this enables the viewing of data for the meters that are relevant to specified individuals.

Note that a key feature of the Pulse 24 service is the conversion of all data to energy (kWh) using daily calorific values.

Data Collection

There are two options for the provision of data:

The service provides the most comprehensive amount of data for use in both billing and a wide range of energy efficiency uses and has the following features:

  • Half hourly data collected over a 24 hour period finishing at 6am each day and made available to customers later the same day.
  • The consumption data is converted to energy for easier analysis and review.
  • The website provides ergonomic and powerful reporting options allowing analysis consumption on a meter or portfolio basis over any time period, as required.
  • Data collected under the service is always available - AMR data at the click of a mouse.
  • Users can download any data set they require locally to enable any specific analysis they may wish to undertake.

The website is being constantly updated to provide additional functionality, which may be of use to customers, for example the Carbon Calculator – an application that allows customers to calculate the carbon value of their energy use.

 Data Management

Energy Assets can provide the collected data to clients and any third parties duly authorised to receive such data. This can be supplied via email, file transfer or FTP protocols. Such data can include:

  • Provision of meter reading data to the customer’s gas supplier to ensure accurate gas invoicing.
  • Data provision to third parties appointed by customers such as consultants and engineers.
  • File flows to client’s energy management software packages with most popular file formats supported.
