Meter Housing Renewal

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the gas meter is adequately protected from degradation and where meters are exposed this often requires a special meter housing. When new or replacement meters are installed or the existing meter housing is in poor condition, new meter housings are required. These are normally installed at the same time meters are installed and they are often purpose built for the particular type of meter being installed.

The works involve the close co-ordination of site visits with the customer and the customer’s representatives as well as EAL’s installation partners.  The gas supplier does not need to be directly involved in these works.
