
On September 26th at 15.00hrs Fergus Ewing MSP will officially open the new Energy Assets offices in Livingston at the Almondvale Business Park. Mr Ewing is attending in his official capacity as Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism.
Energy Assets has its Head Office in Livingston and currently employs 60 people and a further 100 staff through EA partner companies as part of the team that design, build and operate Industrial and Commercial (I&C) gas metering solutions. These solutions enable their client base to achieve and exceed their energy strategies and commitments. Clients across the UK include major retail groups and local authorities such as Birmingham City Council and Liverpool City Council, who work closely with Energy Assets (EA) to measure and understand their energy usage through the end to end portfolio of services of Siteworks, Metering and the Pulse 24 AMR solutions.
The Energy Assets story is a remarkable one; from an initial concept in 2005 through to the vibrant business it is today, now the largest independent provider of metering services to the UK gas I&C market. As a Macquarie group company it benefits from a sound financial footing allowing the management team to develop and seize market share by being recognised as the industry experts. Experts in delivering accurate consistent consumption data through the metering and AMR (Automated Meter Reading – Smart) technology deployed. This is backed up by a custom built secure IT infrastructure that ensures compliance with the stringent gas legislation in the UK – a must for all their clients.
As demands are placed on all organisations, local authorities, multi and single site companies to reduce their carbon footprint or face penalties, many are turning to EA to provide a cost effective metering solutions which remove this headache and at the same time fulfil their obligations. EA do that - from the pipe laid on new builds, meter exchanges through to the actual half hourly remote reads of I&C gas meters across the UK.
Fergus Ewing will visit the new Livingston office at 15.00hrs on September 26th and will meet with the CEO Phil Bellamy-Lee, Macquarie representatives and EA staff to see at first hand the operation run out of Livingston. Mr Ewing will officially open the office at 15.45hrs. Mr Ewing will also be presented to the winners of an EA sponsored Art Competition that has been run with a number of local schools where the children were asked to create artwork of “What Does Energy Mean To You?”.
