Energy Assets Adapts and Innovates for Latest Audit

Energy Assets Limited recently had a five day audit with a leading global certification body consisting of two separate auditors running separate parallel sessions across the three management systems that are currently used by our business. Normally the audit would have taken place in our offices and an engineering field visit would have been built in.

In light of COVID-19 and our new working patterns, we took the decision not to cancel the audit given the current situation and instead to maintain business as usual wherever possible. Therefore the audit went ahead using technology which allowed us to follow the Government guidelines on social distancing and was carried out remotely via videoconferencing software.

Our Compliance Team worked together with the auditors to share evidence via video calls. The auditors liaised with one of our expert engineers over the telephone and we shared audit and training information relating to the engineer as required. The use of teleconferencing software also enabled other employees from across the business to participate in the audit. For example, when the auditor was required to ask how certain employees carried out individual roles within Energy Assets. The remote nature of the audit, even enabled Colin Lynch, Chief Executive Officer, to take part.

The audit covered the EAL Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems. The audit was undertaken with zero non-conformities and the auditors highlighted the effectiveness of the audit and confirmed they may also look to utilise this way of working for future visits.

The management systems assessed are critical to our business to provide confidence and assurance to third parties and clients alike that Energy Assets is fully committed to ensuring best practice.

Employees at Energy Assets work incredibly hard to uphold the standards expected by these management systems, and the success of the audit is a testament to their efforts.

The management systems that we currently have in place are:

  • OHSAS18001 – Health & Safety (including transition to ISO45001)
  • ISO9001 – Quality Management
  • ISO14001 – Environmental Management

It goes without saying that we would like to thank all those who were interviewed as part of the audit process and congratulate all of our employees on their dedication and hard work.
