Health & Wellbeing and Mental Health Awareness Week

To coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week, Energy Assets is delighted to confirm the launch of EA Health – our brand new Health & Wellbeing Framework. EA Health encompasses a broad range of tools and support to meet the changing needs our employees at this time and in the future as we adapt and return to our ‘new normal’.

Week commencing May 18th also marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Week which will run from the 18th to 24th May 2020. In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic the Mental Health Foundation has changed the 2020 theme from ‘sleep’ to ‘Kindness’.

During this period of uncertainty the importance of staying connected, keeping active and being mindful of those around us could not be closer to home.

As we work towards being recognised as an employer of choice, Energy Assets recognises that mental and physical health and wellbeing are equally important and acknowledge the potential impact that work, be that from home or lack of work activity due to furlough and our home life can have on both. We also want to highlight, now more than ever, the need to re-discover kindness in our daily lives and celebrate how this is so important to our mental health. By focusing on our core values, we want to put in place the kind of culture we want to maintain at Energy Assets during, and as we emerge from, COVID-19.

“EA Health will support employees overall health & wellbeing, at home or in the workplace and create an environment where everyone can talk openly about physical health, mental health enabling all to feel supported to take action and access support. “ Jen Faichney, Head of HR.

The Framework is launched as part of a series of wellbeing activities including support around Mental Health. Now more than ever we must be here to support our employees so we are also pleased to announce our extended support via a team of Mental Health First Aiders across our operations to respond and listen.

In keeping with our core values, Energy Assets places the needs of our people at our core. We appreciate that the needs, physical and mental health of our people will change over their career at Energy Assets. Our aim is to ensure we have a broad range of tools and support to meet these changing needs.

We recognise that good health is a key enabler to business performance and productivity. By creating a shared understanding of what wellbeing is and why it is important, we will establish a positive health and wellbeing culture that includes awareness and understanding, effective processes, and positive behaviours.

We recognise and value our people as our most important asset. By providing a range of different support options and benefits we hope to meet our employees varied needs and interests.
