Energy Assets Apprentices Go Outward Bound

This week, a group of young Energy Assets (EA) Apprentices are taking part in an exclusive, fun-packed, week-long adventure with The Outward Bound Trust.

The Trust is an educational charity, which aims to help young people with their personal and professional development and “defy their limitations” through learning and adventures in the wild.

Our Apprentices have come together from all four corners of the UK, in disciplines across EA including finance, administration and engineering. Their week-long programme will involve a residential stay at the Outward Bound centre in the Lake District. They will leave their familiar surroundings behind to enjoy the very best of the area’s hills and lakes; developing their leadership, communication and teamwork skills through a wide range of activities including mountain treks, wild camping, gorge walking and rock climbing.

Will Moir, Group Head of Learning and Development said:

“I am delighted that we are again partnering with The Outward Bound Trust, to deliver this programme and provide unique opportunities for our apprentices to learn vital skills; which they will take into their learning and future careers with EA.

“Our business aims to provide our apprentices with the strongest start to their careers, through programmes such as Outward Bound; which will not only provide them with challenges to test their resilience, but also develop a bond with other apprentices embarking on a similar journey.”
