Energy Assets Partners with Womens Utilities Network

Energy Assets is excited to announce that it has become a formal sponsor of the Womens Utilities Network (WUN), an organisation dedicated to encouraging greater industry diversity and better careers progression for women in the utilities sector.

Our partnership will bring a broader industry perspective, extend business and personal networks, provide inspiration for future career paths and enhance the existing supportive environment at Energy Assets.

The sponsorship will provide opportunities across all of Energy Assets’ offices and also includes being headline sponsor at the first-ever WUN event in Scotland in 2020.

WUN was launched in 2017 to give women the skills and confidence they need to build lasting, fulfilling careers in the utility sector. The organisation provides practical support and inspiration to more than 1,200 members, enabling women to build the right networks, get the right training and take control of their own working lives.

Said Jennifer Faichney, Head of HR at Energy Assets: “At Energy Assets we are clear that gender cannot be a barrier to recruitment or career progression. We strive to be an Employer of Choice and this means enshrining equal opportunities for all and actively encouraging women across our organisation to fulfil their potential. This is a commitment we make publicly through our values and something we strive to ‘live’ every day through our corporate culture.”

“As WUN partners, we will be active participants in events and mentoring programmes, sharing our expertise, helping to create role models and bringing the benefits of a more diverse workforce to our sector.”

WUN Founder Angela Peart said: “We are delighted to welcome Energy Assets into the WUN family. We value the support of companies that recognise the benefits of a gender balance and actively support the careers progression of women through forward-looking recruitment, training and development policies.”

Co-Founder Hayley Monks commented: “Having Energy Assets onboard as a sponsor of WUN is recognition of their commitment to supporting women in our industry.”

Energy Assets Invests in People for Future Success

Energy Assets has announced a major investment in its apprenticeship programme – and plans for a graduate intake – to help meet its future skills requirements.

Britain’s leading independent metering, energy data and network services company will be doubling the number of apprentices it employs by the end of 2020 and aims to launch a new graduate training scheme in the next 12 months.

Energy Assets Powers Meter Installation Expertise at New Training Centre

Energy Assets has unveiled a state-of-the-art training centre at Darwen, Lancashire, to provide its 60-strong team of meter engineers with one of the energy industry’s most advanced learning environments.

The investment in the new centre provides engineers with access to every type of physical meter configuration they are likely to encounter in industrial and commercial buildings, along with a ‘classroom’ space featuring interactive touchscreen technology with self-guided ‘drag and drop’ capability.
