Energy Assets Drives Up Operator Safety with Refreshed Vehicle Fleet

Energy Assets Group is enhancing driver safety as it prepares to take delivery of 115 new vans by the end of the year to meet growing demand for its meter installation and utility network construction services.

The new vehicles, including 86 Citroen Dispatch vans and 29 MAN 3.5 tonne TGE Euro6 diesel vehicles, will be deployed across England and Wales and will include numerous safety features while benefiting from lower emissions and improved fuel efficiency. The vans are being introduced in part as replacement for existing vehicles and to support the continued growth of the business, and will incorporate metal racking systems to meet the specific needs of the company’s gas and electricity energy meter installation engineers and its utility network construction operatives.

“The Citroens will be committed to our meter installation operations, with the 29 MAN models destined to support the growth of our utility network construction business,” said Tommy Knott, Energy Assets’ Supply Chain Manager.

“The safety of our drivers and other road users has been a key priority in the specification of the vehicles, with all vans incorporating important features such as hands-free communication, speed limiters, reversing cameras and forward facing dashcams, along with systems that make life easier on the road, such as SatNavs and air conditioning. The vehicles are also fitted with tracking systems that will automatically record and report any unusual incidents and manoeuvres in the interests of safety for our operatives and other road users.”

These latest vehicles follow on from 33 new vans recently added to the Energy Assets commercial fleet based at Alva in Scotland.
