Local Network Ownership

Local Network Ownership

The first name in final mile connections

We are authorised to own and manage final mile gas, electricity and fibre networks serving residential and commercial developments. We partner with housebuilders, developers, major construction companies and contractors to provide competitive asset values and expert technical support.

As an approved Independent Distribution Network Operator and Independent Gas Transport, we take care of local network operations to ensure that utilities are delivered safely and reliably to end users. We are also a leading player in the fibre broadband network management, enabling households to benefit from ultrafast digital services as soon as they move into their new properties.

Flexible Approach

We have built a portfolio comprising thousands of domestic connection points, but one of our key success factors has been our flexible approach to asset types. This ethos has driven success in commercial sectors, in areas such as EV charging infrastructure and large data centres.

We are also an Ofgem-accredited Meter Asset Manager, meaning we can supply SMETS2 smart meters and own, operate and manage them as assets. This adds an additional layer of service to our growing customer base.

Network Support

In addition to providing asset values for networks, we have a team of inhouse technical designers ready to work with contractors, housebuilders and developers to help guide best practice design and construction. We also provide legal support to handle land rights, which can dramatically shorten utility network adoption timelines and speed up the realisation of asset values.

Introducing Milestone

Customers are benefiting from an Energy Assets innovation that is enabling customers to track the legal status of their utility asset projects in real time.

Milestone is thought to be an industry first, enabling ICPs and UIPs to login into an online portal to determine the current status of their projects.

The platform has already delivered significant benefits, including expediting legal completion times on substations and easements at an average of five and three weeks respectively. In another example, a land rights project was completed in just seven days from initial Design and Legal submission.
