Programme

The wind turbine development in Cranford, East of Kettering, was a project for Farm Wind with short deadlines that relied on the unanimous support of the local community. Without community consent, the turbines couldn’t have been built. With time short for this project, we had to work efficiently and effectively to produce a quotation for the 500kVA export the development required.

Our solution

In addition to being a leading independent connections provider for large-scale solar energy sites, we’ve also been an essential part of numerous high-profile wind turbine developments. Once full consent of the local community had been obtained, we installed 200 metres of cable in trenches provided by the client in a manner that ensured the minimal levels of disruption. We then designed and installed a bespoke 11kV metering substation. The cable and metering substation were then adopted by WPD.
