Energy Assets works on a large-scale power project

We successfully completed a large CHP project for APS Salads, totalling 15MW export.

Programme

We successfully completed a large CHP project for APS Salads — totalling 15MW export — tucked away in Ash, on the outskirts of Canterbury. The challenge was to connect 2NO – 7.5MW 11kV combined heat and power plants to the UKPN DNO grid via a new 33kW metering substation.

Our solution

The farm covered 52 acres of land and was designed to provide enough electricity to power more than 4,300 homes, making it an important development for the local area.

As a leading power in multi-utility network design, installation and delivery, we designed and installed the entire connection framework from the 33kV metering substation, along with 2.9 km of 33kV cable to the 33/11kV 15 MVA transformer. The cables and metering substation were then adopted by UKPN.

A proven track record

2.9km of 33kV cable.

52 acres of farmland.

A new 33kV substation.
